Laurel clips
For more than 60 years, Laurel has been offering ingenious accessories for offices and homes. Our paper clips, magnets, clips and binders are not only practical – they also bring colour into your office, and make organising and tidying fun.
The “Laurel Plastic” company was founded in Bad Canstatt, Swabia, in 1952 by Kurt and Margarete Lorber. LAUREL comes from Latin and means “Lorbeer” in German.
One year after founding the company, Kurt Lorber – an avid inventor – came up with the world’s first plastic paper clip. In 1954, Kurt Lorber took out an international patent on his invention, thus laying the foundation stone for our company’s ongoing success story.
When the company relocated to Aichwald in the Esslingen district in 1957, the offices and manufacture were able to expand. Today, the production halls are 2,000 m² in size.
The company stands for “Made in Germany” quality, manufacturing all its products exclusively in Germany. State-of-the-art technology guarantees quality products, whilst in-house production lines provide flexibility with regard to delivery dates – thus ensuring consistently high product quality. One major factor in our manufacture is our focus on environmentally friendly production methods and the fact that we abstain from using toxic materials.
Flexibility, speed and customer service are the pillars of our company.
We’re highly flexible in our production, and able to cater to customer requirements and wishes with regard to colours and packaging.
Naturally, Laurel also ensures social welfare standards are maintained in all areas of business. For many years we have cooperated closely with a sheltered workshop in Stetten.
Laurel GmbH has also signed the codes of honour of the PBS and of the General Association of Promotional Items (Gesamtverband der Werbeartikel-Wirtschaft e.V.).
Today, Laurel’s portfolio comprises 70 items in 20 product groups. Most of our products are protected by national and international patents, registered designs and utility patents. Laurel ships to virtually all European countries as well as to the USA, Australia and Japan.
